Welcome to the Conway Police Department
Conway Police Department History
This past year I started doing some research into when the Conway Police Department was actually formed. I began my trek through history by reading the Town reports beginning in the late 1890's. Needless to say, the early reports weren't very comprehensive and are more of a log of the town's expenditures.
Well, this started my career as the department's historian. When Chief Mullen found out I was doing the research, he decided that it might be nice to put together a list of all police Chiefs who had headed up the department. So, that is how we will start off the 'Tidbits'. Here is the best list I could put together. If you know of someone I've missed, or the dates are incorrect, please let me know so they can be corrected.
- Billert
- Dicey
- Robert J. Mullen 1993-to present
- William S. Scaletti 1984-1994
- Donald S. Lance 1978-1984

- M. Alan Mclean 1974-1977

P.S. I am looking for photos for my book and any news clippings. I will make copies of the photos and return the originals. Please send Xeroxed copies of articles, or if you don't want them back, send the originals. Thanks!
